Braised Pearl Beans with Pork Recipe

Ingredients :

1 tablespoon

1 tablespoon

1/4 teaspoon

Pearl beans (fortune beans)

Pork blade roast

Dried Chinese mushrooms

Soy sauce

Cooking wine


Sesame oil

Method :
  • Soften the Chinese mushrooms in water, then remove stems and shred.

  • Cut the pork into 3 cm squares.

  • Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a wok.

  • Stir-fry the Chinese mushrooms until fragrant.

  • Add pork and stir-fry until meat turns golden brown.

  • Add wine, soy sauce and sugar with the cooked pork, stir-fry.

  • Add water to cover meat. Bring to boil.

  • Braise over low heat for 30 minutes.

  • Add pearl beans.

  • Continue to braise until beans are soft, about 10 minutes.

  • Sprinkle with sesame oil before serving.

Note : If pearl beans are unavailable, you may replace it with lentils or lima beans.
