Vietnamese Papaya Salad Recipe

Ingredients :

200g (7 oz)

100g (3.5 oz)

1 cup

1/2 cup

1 large



2 tablespoons

3 tablespoons

4 cloves


Small shrimps

Belly pork

Mint leaves

Basil leaves, cut into strips

Green papaya shredded  (450g / 1 lb)



Fish sauce

Juice from large green limes

Garlic, minced

Bird's eye chilies, minced.

Method :
  • Steam or poach the shrimps for 2 minutes until they turn pink.

  • Cool and then peel the shell.

  • Boil the pork in a little water for about 25 minutes or until cooked. Cool, then slice thinly.

  • Combine all the dressing ingredients and stir well.

  • Toss the dressing through the pork, shrimps, mint and basil, and arrange this on top of the papaya

  • Serve.
