Orange Flavored Meat Recipe

Ingredients :

400 grams

2 tablespoons

1 tablespoon

1 teaspoon

1/4 teaspoon

1/4 teaspoon

1 teaspoon

1 tablespoon

1 cup




Boneless lamb or veal


Powdered cashew nuts or almonds

Black pepper powder

Powdered nutmeg

Powdered mace


Sliced ginger

Orange juice

Peel of 2 medium oranges


Mint sprigs

Method :
  • Wash meat, pat dry and shred.

  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add meat and fry till golden.

  • Stir in powdered nuts and fry over low heat for a few moments, stirring constantly.

  • Mix in spice powders, salt, ginger and 1 1/2 cups water, and simmer over low heat till meat is three-quarters cooked.

  • Scrape the pith off the orange peel, shred rind and boil in water for 5 minutes.

  • Drain rind, add to meat with orange juice, and cook over low heat till tender.

  • Garnish with mint sprigs and serve with naan, roomali bread or tandoori bread.
