Mutton and Coconut Fry Recipe

Ingredients :

Boneless mutton


Large onions, grated


Chopped tomatoes




Onion, chopped

Dried red chilies

Cumin seeds

Black peppercorns

Poppy seeds

Coriander seeds



Garlic paste

Grated fresh coconut

Method :
  • Wash meat, pat dry and cut into 5 cm cubes.

  • To prepare masala, heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan, add chopped onion and fry till golden.

  • Add remaining masala ingredients and fry for 2-3 minutes.

  • Cool, grind to a paste and set aside.

  • Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a non-stick pan, add grated onions and fry till brown.

  • Add meat and salt, and fry for 8-9 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  • Mix in ground masala, tomatoes and 1 cup water, transfer to a pressure cooker and cook under pressure for 15 minutes.

  • Allow cooker to cool before opening.

  • Serve with bread.
