Sweet and Sour Ham Steaks Recipe

Ingredients : Serves 4

4 gammon steaks
50 g/2 oz/0.25 cup demerara sugar
10 ml/2 tsp mustard powder
10 ml/2 tsp water
1 lemon, cut into wedges
15 ml/1 tbsp chopped parsley
Creamed potatoes and mangetout (snow peas), to serve

Method :

Grill (broil) one side of the gammon under a hot grill (broiler) for 5 minutes. Mix the sugar, mustard and water to a smooth paste. Turn over the gammon and spread the mustard mixture on the gammon. Grill for 3 minutes until golden brown. Serve immediately with lemon wedges dipped in the parsley, and creamed potatoes and mangetout.
