Spring Onions with Tofu Recipe

Ingredients :

2 pieces (14 oz)


1/4 teaspoon

2 tablespoons

1 teaspoon

1 teaspoon

1/4 teaspoon

Soft tofu

Spring onions


Soy sauce


Black vinegar

Sesame oil

Method :
  • Cut each piece of tofu into 4 equal pieces and salt evenly.

  • Cut spring onions into 5 cm long sections.

  • Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a wok.

  • Fry tofu until golden brown and remove.

  • Stir-fry onions with remaining oil until tender.

  • Add tofu, soy sauce, sugar and 1/2 cup water.

  • Mix well, remove and transfer to a casserole dish.

  • Cover and simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes until liquid is absorbed.

  • Sprinkle vinegar and sesame oil over dish.

  • Remove and serve.

Note : Tofu in casserole dish should be cooked over low heat to preserve its delicate flavor. After removing from heat, the casserole dish will retain heat longer. For best flavor, this dish should be served hot. Casserole dish must be of the type to use on stove burner.
