Shredded Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients : Serves 6

Cabbage

Medium onion, finely chopped

Fresh green chilies, seeded and chopped

Ground turmeric

Ground black pepper

Ground black mustard

Salt

Pounded dried shrimps, optional

Desiccated or freshly grated coconut

Method :
  • Shred cabbage very finely.

  • Wash well, drain and put into a large saucepan with the water that clings to the cabbage.

  • Add all other ingredients except the coconut.

  • Cover and cook gently until cabbage is tender but not overcooked, stirring from time to time.

  • Uncover and add coconut.

  • Stir well, and when any liquid in the pan has been absorbed by the coconut, the dish is ready.
