Shredded Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients : Serves 6

250 g cabbage

3 green chilies, seeded and chopped

1 onion, chopped finely

1/4 teaspoon turmeric, ground

1/4 teaspoon black pepper, gorund

1/2 teaspoon black mustard, ground

Salt to taste

2 teaspoons dried shrimps, washed and pounded

1/2 cup desiccated coconut

 

Method :

Wash the cabbage and shred it very finely. Put the shredded cabbage into a large saucepan with the water that clings to the cabbage. Add all the other ingredients except the desiccated coconut. Cook gently with the lid until the cabbage is tender. Do not overcook. Stir from time to time. Remove the lid and add the coconut. Stir well and when the liquid in the pan has dried, the dish is ready to be served with white rice.
