Bitter Gourd Sambol Recipe

(Karavila Sambola)

Ingredients : Serves 4-6

Bitter gourd

Ground turmeric

Salt

Medium onion, sliced very thinly

Fresh green chilies, seeded and sliced

Oil for shallow frying

Lemon juice to taste

Method :
  • Wash the bitter gourds.

  • Cut crossways into fairly thin slices.

  • Rub with turmeric and salt and fry in oil until golden brown on both sides.

  • Drain on paper.

  • Then mix with the onion and chilies.

  • Season with lemon juice and more salt if necessary.

  • Serve
