Vegetable Cheese Round Recipe

Ingredients :

2 onions, chopped
200g cheese, grated
20 ml chopped parsley
30 ml mustard pickle
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

400 g Shortcrust Pastry
1 egg, beaten
15 ml sesame seeds


Method :

Blend together the onions, cheese, parsley, pickle and season according to your taste. Roll out the pastry (paste) on a lightly floured surface to a shape of a large rectangle. Spread the filling over the pastry to slightly within 1 cm of the pastry's edge, then roll up like a Swiss roll. Then cut along the roll to three-quarters of the width. Make it into a shape of a ring and seal the ends with the beaten egg. Place on a greased baking (cookie) sheet, brush with the egg and sprinkle with some sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 200C/400F/gas mark 6 for about 30 minutes. Serve while hot.
