Chili Fried Cauliflower Recipe

(Sambal Goreng Kembang)

Ingredients : Serves 6

3 tablespoons

1 teaspoon

1 teaspoon

500 g

2 tablespoons

Peanut oil

Fresh red chilies, finely chopped

Large onion, finely chopped

Garlic, finely chopped

Dried shrimp paste (belacan)


Cauliflower, sliced

Hot water

Method :
  • Heat oil in wok or frying pan and fry the chilies, onion and garlic over low heat, stirring frequently, until onion is soft and golden.

  • Add balacan and crush with back of spoon.

  • Fry for a minute longer.

  • Add salt, then turn in the cauliflower and toss and stir constantly until cauliflower is thoroughly mixed with the fried chili and onion mixture.

  • Sprinkle with the hot water, cover and cook for 10 minutes.

  • Serve hot.
