Ingredients :
300 g plain flour
1 tablespoon custard powder
1.5 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
Salt to taste
100 g margarine
275 g soft brown sugar
150 g corn oil
5 eggls
2 1/2 tablespoons honey
3/4 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 tablespoon melon seeds
Method :
Sift the flour and mix with the
custard powder in a mixing bowl. Stir in the bicarbonate of soda,
salt and baking powder. Set aside. Use a mixer bowl to mix the
margarine, sugar and corn oil until light and creamy. Beat in the
eggs one at a time. Stir in the vanilla essense and honey. Add
sifted flour and blend into a smooth batter.
Line a 20 cm diameter deep basket with
greased greaseproof paper. Pour the smooth batter into the basket
and sprinkle some melon seeds at the top. Steam over a rapidly
boiling water for 45 minutes. |
