Sambal Timun Recipe

(Pork & Cucumber Salad)

Ingredients :

200g

250g

2 tablespoons

 

Dressing

25g

1/2 tablespoon

2 tablespoons

1/2 teaspoon

Pork belly

Cucumber

Dried shrimp, soaked, cleaned and pounded until smooth

 

 

Shallots, thinly sliced

Sambal Belacan (shrimp paste)

Lime juice

Salt

Method :
  • Simmer the pork belly in water for about 20 minutes until it is cooked through.

  • Cool, then slice thinly.

  • Peel the cucumber and quarter it lengthways.

  • Remove the soft center and slice into bite-sized pieces.

  • To prepare the Dressing, mix all the ingredients thoroughly.

  • Combine the Dressing with the dried shrimp, pork and cucumber.

  • Serve with steamed white rice.
