Steamed Saucy Crabs Recipe

Ingredients :

Sauce Ingredients

1 teaspoon

1/2 teaspoon

1/2 teaspoon

100 ml

 

Garnishing

Sri Lankan meaty crab, shelled, cleaned and chopped into pieces

Dried Chinese black mushrooms, soaked to soften and shredded

Preserved soy bean paste

Shredded young ginger

Garlic, chopped

Cooking oil

Sesame oil

 

 

Light soy sauce

Sugar

Pepper

Oyster sauce

Fresh chicken stock or water

 

cilantro leaves

Spring onion, chopped

Red chili

Method :
  • Heat the oil and sesame oil in a wok. Stir-fry the garlic and ginger over medium heat until aromatic.

  • Add preserved soy beans and mushrooms and fry for 1-2 minutes.

  • Add sauce ingredients and stir-fry well to combine.

  • Reduce the heat and simmer for 3 minutes.

  • Add in the crabs and stir-fry briefly.

  • Fill a heat-resistant dish with cooked hot plain rice to the brim.

  • Add half of the crab and sauce over the rice.

  • Place in a steamer and steam over rapid boiling water for 20 minutes or until crab is cooked.

  • Serve with garnishing.
