Grilled Skewered Beef Recipe

Ingredients :

500 g sirloin steak

2 slices fresh galangal, chopped finely

2 slices fresh turmeric, chopped finely

5 cloves garlic, crushed

2 teaspoons chili flakes

4 stems lemon grass (white part only), chopped finely

4 teaspoons palm sugar, grated

1/2 cup oyster sauce

2 tablespoons cooking oil

1 teaspoon salt


Method :

Use a sharp kitchen knife to cut the steam into long thin strips and place in a glass bowl. Using a mortar and pestle, pound the lemon grass, chili, galangal, turmeric and garlic. Add the palm sugar, oyster sauce, oil and salt to combine well. Mix in the marinade over the meat. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours. Thread the meat onto wooden skewers which have been soaked in water for 30 minutes. Preheat the grill to hot. Grill the skewered beef on both sides until browned. Serve hot.
