Deep Fried Beef Slices Recipe

(Gogi Bokum)

Ingredients : Serves 3-4

Lean rump or fillet steak

Spring onion, finely chopped

Finely chopped leek

Garlic, finely chopped

Sugar

Light soy sauce

Sesame oil

Peanut oil

Bulgogi sauce

Few drops hot chili sauce

Method :
  • Cut steak into very thin slices and beat them quite flat.

  • Arrange in a single layer on a dish and sprinkle with spring onion, leek and garlic.

  • Mix sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil and chili sauce together.

  • Spoon over the beef.

  • Marinate for 2 or 3 hours, or longer in the refrigerator.

  • Heat peanut oil in a wok and when very hot, fry the beef slices a few at a time for only a few seconds.

  • Drain briefly then serve at once with rice and bulgogi sauce.

  • Steak is dipped in the sauce and eaten, accompanied by white rice.
