Minced beef
Glass noodles, cut into 10 cm lengths,
soaked until tender, drained
Bread, cut into 1 cm cubes,
soaked in
hot water, squeezed
Eggs, lightly beaten
Sweet soy sauce
Pepper
Powdered nutmeg
Salt
Margarine
Garlic, finely sliced
Shallots, finely sliced
Stock
Sweet soy sauce
Tomato sauce
Pepper
Powdered nutmeg
Salt
Cornflour, mixed with a little water

Method :
- Combine beef with other
ingredients and mix well.
- Clean a milk can and cover
with banana leaf or plastic up to 2 cm from the top.
- Fill the can with beef
mixture and steam until cooked.
- Remove from the steamer
and let it cool.
- When cooled, remove the
beef from the mould and fry with margarine.
- Slice into pieces of 1 cm
thick.
- Serve with sauce, fried
potatoes and boiled vegetables.
Sauce : Heat margarine
and fry garlic and shallots until soft, then pour in the stock. Add
the other ingredients, stirring in cornflour last, to thicken the
sauce.
Note : If you don't
have a can, you can put the mixture in the center of a banana leaf
and roll up firmly into a cylindrical shape. Secure both ends, them
steam.
