Indian Fried Fish Recipe

Ingredients :

750 g firm fish steaks

2 cloves garlic

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated finely

1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Lemon juice

Oil for frying

Fresh cilantro leaves to garnish

Lemon wedges to garnish

 

Method :

Wash the fish fillet and pat dry with paper towels. Crush the garlic with salt and mix with the turmeric, pepper, ginger, chili powder and just enough lemon juice to make a paste. Rub this paste well over the fish fillet on both sides, cover and set aside for 20 minutes. Heat a wok with enough oil to cover the base and when hot, put in the fish steaks. Fry on moderate heat until cooked on both sides. Serve on platter garnished with cilantro leaves and lemon wedges.
