Meat and Colocasia Curry Recipe

Ingredients :

Boneless mutton or beef


Onions, ground

Garlic paste

Ginger paste

Thick curd, whisked


Red chili powder

Garam masala powder

Turmeric powder

Powdered green cardamom

Oil for deep frying

Method :
  • Wash meat, pat dry and cut into 5 cm cubes.

  • Peel colocasia, wash and leave whole.

  • Heat oil for deep frying in a deep frying pan and lightly fry the colocasia.

  • Drain and set aside.

  • Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a non-stick pan, add onions and fry till brown.

  • Add meat, garlic and ginger and continue frying for 8-9 minutes, stirring frequently.

  • Mix in remaining ingredients except colocasia.

  • Stir in 2 cups water, transfer to a pressure cooker and cook under pressure for 15 minutes.

  • Allow cooker to cool before opening it.

  • Add colocasia and simmer for 8-9 minutes.

  • Serve with rice, naan or tandoori bread.
