Place the apple slices in a greased ovenproof dish and sprinkle with
granulated sugar and cinnamon to taste. Mix together the flour and baking
powder and rub in the butter or margarine until the mixture resembles fine
breadcrumbs. Stir in the brown sugar and nuts and spread the mixture over
the apples. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C/425°F/gas mark 7 for 30
minutes until brown and crisp. Serve hot or cold with ice cream.
