Walnut Cookies Recipe

Ingredients :

Flour

Walnuts, finely chopped

White sugar

Brown sugar

Baking powder

Baking soda

Eggs

Margarine or butter

Vegetable shortening

Vanilla extract

Egg, lightly beaten (optional)

Method :
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder, and baking soda into a bowl.
  3. Use an electric mixer to beat the butter or margarine, shortening, and white and brown sugar in a bowl.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and beat until well blended.
  5. Stir in the walnuts.
  6. Stir in the flour mixture. 
  7. Take a tablespoon of cookie dough and form into a ball about the size of a golf ball.
  8. Place on a lightly greased cookie tray, approximately 2 inches apart, and press down lightly with a fork.
  9. Bake at 325 degrees for about 15 - 17 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. When thoroughly cooled, store in a sealed container.
