Japanese Jelly Dessert Recipe

Ingredients :

4 teaspoons agar-agar powder

250 g sugar

3 tablespoons strained lemon juice

2 egg whites

Lemon slices for decoration

 

Method :

Heat a saucepan with 2 cups of water and sprinkle the agar-agar powder on the surface. Stir to dissolve and bring to the boil. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice. Whick the egg whites until stiff in a dry bowl. When the agar-agar mixture is still slightly warm, mix in the whisked egg whites. Stir to mix well. Pour into a mould or individual dishes and allow to set. Chill in the refrigerator and decorate before serving with lemon slices.
