Almond Bean Curd Recipe

Ingredients : Serves 8

4 cups

4 teaspoons

400 ml

1 1/2 teaspoons

Water

Agar-agar powder

Can sweetened condensed milk

Almond essence

Method :
  • Measure water into a saucepan.

  • Sprinkle agar-agar powder over surface or add soaked agar-agar strands.

  • One cup of soaked and drained agar-agar strands may be used instead of the agar-agar powder.

  • Bring to the boil.

  • Stir until agar-agar is dissolved.

  • Turn off heat.

  • Add condensed milk and almond essence, stirring well.

  • Pour into a large shallow dish and leave to set.

  • Cut into diamond shapes and serve on its own or with a mixture of oriental fruits such as canned lychees or longans, canned mandarin segments, or fresh melon balls.
