Stir Fry Beef with Ginger Recipe

Ingredients : Serves 4

15 ml/1 tbsp oil
450 g/1 lb lean steak, cut into strips

25 g/1 oz fresh root ginger, peeled and grated
1 garlic clove, crushed
100 g/4 oz baby sweetcom (corn) cobs

50 g/2 oz mangetout (snow peas)

1 red (bell) pepper, cut into strips

200 g/7 oz/1 small can of water chestnuts, drained
50 g/2 oz/0.5 cup cashew nuts
30 ml/2 tbsp soy sauce
5 ml/1 tbsp Chinese five spice powder

5 ml/1 tbsp sesame seeds
Egg Fried Rice, to serve

Method :

Heat the oil in a work or large frying pan (skillet) and fry (saute) the beef, ginger and garlic until browned. Stir in the corn, mangetout, red pepper, water chestnuts and nuts and stir-fry for 3 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and cook for 1 minute, then serve immediately with Egg Fried Rice.
